1 — the name
aesthete came from the same place most great quotes come from: reality TV. Marc Francis used it as a backhanded compliment on Ladies of London.
An aesthete is someone who cares how things look. Depending on who’s saying it, that’s shallow shade or it’s a sign you have taste. The root is Greek — a person who knows things by perceiving them. Taste as a form of intelligence.
That’s the spirit this brand is built on.

Why aesthete?
The name came from an extremely culturally relevant institution — reality TV.
Marc Francis — if you know, you know — used the word aesthete as a sort of backhanded compliment. Someone who cares about aesthetics, how things look and not much else — which can sound a little shallow.
The Greek origin means someone who perceives through the mind and senses — which actually sounds very wise. And to really get the joke, you have to be perceptive enough to pick up on both.
That’s the spirit of aesthete.
Beautiful, deep and in on the joke.
