1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information you give us directly
- Account information: name, email address, password (encrypted)
- Birth information: date of birth, exact birth time, birth city/location — used to generate your personalized human design and astrology readings ("Blueprint")
- Uploaded content: photos of tarot spreads you choose to upload for AI interpretation
- Purchase information: billing name, purchase history, subscription status (payment card details are handled entirely by Stripe — see Section 4)
- Communications: anything you send us via email or support channels

- Device and log information: IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, pages visited, timestamps

- Analytics data: aggregated and individual usage patterns via Base44's built-in analytics
1.3 Information generated by our Services
- Your Blueprint reading and any subsequent AI-generated interpretations
- Compatibility or interaction reports you request involving a second person's birth details (see Section 1.4)
1.4 Third-party birth data
If you generate a compatibility or interaction report using someone else's birth details, you confirm you have that person's permission to share this information with us. aesthete is not responsible for verifying this consent.

Under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), we collect, use, and disclose personal information only with knowledge and consent, except where permitted or required by law.
3. How AI Processing Works
- Your birth information and, where applicable, uploaded tarot images are processed by AI systems (including third-party large language model providers, see Section 4) to generate readings and interpretations.
- We do not use your personal information to train third-party AI providers' foundation models.
- AI-generated content is generated specifically for you and is not shared with other users.
- AI-generated readings can contain errors, inconsistencies, or inaccuracies. See our Disclaimer for full detail.
4. Third-Party Service Providers
We share limited personal information with trusted providers who help us operate the Services:
- Stripe — payment processing (we never see or store your full card number)
- AI providers (large language models) — generating readings and interpretations. Current providers are disclosed in-app and updated when they change.
- Base44 — cloud hosting, application infrastructure, and analytics
- Zoho Mail — transactional and marketing email
Each provider is contractually bound to protect your data and use it only to provide services to us. We do not sell your personal information.

Who processes your readings
These are the large language model providers currently used to generate your readings. We update this list when our providers change.
Anthropic (Claude)
Generates Blueprint readings, tarot interpretations, and compatibility reports.
We do not use your personal information to train third-party AI providers’ foundation models.
5. Cookies & Analytics
We use a small number of cookies for essential site function and first-party analytics via Base44. We do not use marketing or advertising cookies. Full detail is in our Cookie Policy.
6. Your Rights
Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete information
- Delete your personal information ("right to erasure")
- Withdraw consent at any time (this may limit your ability to use the Services)
- Port your data in a portable format
- Object to certain processing

Deletion Requests
When you request deletion, we will delete your personal information except where we are required to retain it for legal, tax, fraud-prevention, or dispute-resolution purposes. Generated readings tied to a deleted account will also be deleted unless retention is legally required.
7. Data Retention
We retain personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy:
- Account and birth information: for the life of your account, plus 90 days after closure
- Uploaded tarot photos: for the life of your account, plus 90 days after closure
- Purchase records: 7 years (in line with Canadian tax record retention requirements)
- Analytics and log data: up to 26 months
8. Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your personal information, including encryption in transit, access controls, and regular security review. No system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
If we experience a data breach that creates a real risk of significant harm, we will notify affected individuals and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada as required by law.
9. International Data Transfers
aesthete is based in Ontario, Canada, and we primarily serve customers in Canada and the United States. Because our service providers may be located outside Canada (including the United States), your personal information may be processed in jurisdictions with different privacy laws. Where this occurs, we take steps to ensure providers offer a comparable level of protection through contractual safeguards.
10. Children's Privacy
The Services are intended for adults only (see Terms of Service, Eligibility). We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of majority in their jurisdiction. If we learn we have collected such information, we will delete it.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notice at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
