A synthesis system drawing from several traditions — astrology, the I Ching, the Kabbalistic Tree of Life, the Hindu–Brahmin chakra system, and modern quantum/biophysical ideas.
human design is a system that maps how your energy is designed to flow — how it makes decisions, what it needs to function, and where it tends to stall. It reads your chart the same way an architect reads a blueprint: what's load-bearing, what's fixed, and what has room to move.
It was developed in 1987 as a synthesis of four ancient systems — the I Ching, the Kabbalah, the Hindu-Brahmin chakra system, and Western astrology. At the moment you were born, the universe was broadcasting specific subatomic particles called neutrinos. They're so small and fast that they pass through virtually everything — the earth, buildings, every person reading this, right now, by the billions per second. They carry almost no mass. Almost.
The premise of human design is that as neutrinos stream through the planets in our solar system, they pick up a tiny imprint of each planet's energy. At the exact moment of your birth, the specific configuration of neutrinos streaming through you — filtered through every planet's position in that moment — creates your chart.
Type — your energetic operating style. Strategy — how life tends to work best for you. Authority — your built-in decision maker. Profile — the role you naturally play. Centers — where you’re fixed. Where you’re flexible.
There are five categories of human design type:
Manifestor — "Already clocked it, done it, sent it." Built to initiate.
Generator — "Obsessed or completely uninterested." Built to respond to what lights you up.
Manifesting Generator — "Doing everything all at once, in organised chaos." Generator energy with Manifestor speed.
Projector — "Observant and opinionated, and so glad you asked." Designed to guide.
Reflector — "The most accurate read in the room — when they feel like it." The rarest type — less than 1% of the population — and genuinely unlike everyone else.
So much more than your zodiac sign.
A birth chart is a calculated map of the sky at the exact moment you were born.
It's based on real astronomical positions — where the Sun, Moon, and planets were from your exact location on Earth, down to the minute.
Astrology then translates that sky into a symbolic system. A circular chart divided into signs and houses, with meaning layered onto each placement. It's symbolic and psychological. It maps the sky at the moment you were born to identity patterns, emotional tendencies, relational dynamics, and the recurring themes that shape how your life feels over time. It's less about structure, more about narrative.
If human design is the Frank Lloyd Wright, astrology is the Billy Cotton. Together, they describe two different angles of one thing.
